About  the book
William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski are born on the same day into completely different lives. Kane is the son of a Boston millionaire whose life is insulated by luxury and ease; Rosnovski is a poor Pole and later a concentration camp inmate, scarred by his suffering. Their paths cross years later as Rosnovski tries to save his hotel chain from going under and Kane's bank refuses to lend him money. Rosnovski decides that he must destroy Kane at all costs. Fuelled by enmity, their duel becomes a fight to the death.
